Mechanical Engineering

Erdem
Altıparmak

Engineering student. Problem solver.

Curious about tools and technology since day one. A researcher by nature, a communicator by instinct — equally good at listening as at speaking. When I hear something once, I rarely need to hear it twice.

Who I am

I'm Erdem, a first-year Mechanical Engineering student at Ostim Technical University in Ankara. My curiosity for how things work started long before university — I've always been drawn to tools, machines, and the logic behind them.

Outside the classroom, I work as a CNC milling machine operator, which gives me a hands-on perspective that most students my age don't yet have. I believe understanding the factory floor makes you a better engineer.

I'm also working on my English and German language skills — building this site is part of that journey.

Academic path

2025 – Present
Mechanical Engineering — B.Sc.
Ostim Technical University · Ankara
First year student. Focused on building strong fundamentals in engineering mechanics, materials, and manufacturing processes. Admitted after achieving a strong ranking in the quantitative sciences section of the national university entrance exam (YKS).
2021 – 2025
Batıkent Anadolu Lisesi
Ankara
Graduated as one of the high-achieving students in the school. Actively participated in seminars, cultural performances, poetry readings, traditional events, and historical celebrations throughout four years. Took on a leadership role by organizing the graduation ceremony for my class. Finished with a strong result in the quantitative sciences track of the university entrance exam.

Work experience

CNC Milling Machine Operator
Part-time
Ankara · Ongoing
Operating CNC milling machines for precision part production. Responsible for reading technical drawings, setting up workpieces, selecting cutting tools, and verifying dimensional accuracy of finished parts. Developing skills in feeds, speeds, and toolpath optimization.

Where I'm headed

I want to grow into an engineer who doesn't just design on paper — but understands what happens when metal meets machine. My goal is to combine deep technical knowledge with real manufacturing experience, and eventually contribute to precision engineering and advanced manufacturing.

🔩
Master CNC Programming
Learn G-code deeply, CAM software, and toolpath optimization for complex geometries.
📐
CAD / CAM Proficiency
Develop strong skills in SolidWorks, Siemens NX(Design Center) , Fusion 360, and simulation tools used in industry.
🌍
International Experience
Work or study abroad — using German and English to open doors in European engineering.
